Job Description:
We are seeking dynamic, dedicated, and high-energy individuals to join our Camp4Real team as Summer Camp Counselors. This is a highly competitive position for those who are truly passionate about youth development, outdoor education, and creating unforgettable experiences for children. Counselors are the heart of the Camp4Real experience—bringing enthusiasm, compassion, and leadership to every moment of the day.
You’ll lead and engage groups of children (ages 6–12) through outdoor adventures, group games, lake activities, creative play, and more. This is an active, high-impact role perfect for individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments, value intentional mentorship, and want to spend their summer making a real difference.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and inspire a group of campers in daily activities with a high level of engagement and care.
- Facilitate a variety of activities that include P.E. games, swimming, hiking, biking, ziplining, lake play, rock wall climbing, and other movement-based experiences.
- Create a supportive environment where campers feel safe, seen, and celebrated.
- Actively model and reinforce positive behaviors, teamwork, and emotional regulation.
- Communicate clearly with fellow staff, directors, and families as needed.
- Participate in all-camp events and assist with daily setup, cleanup, and operations.
- Ensure camper safety at all times through active supervision and adherence to camp guidelines.
- Handle conflict and camper challenges with empathy, patience, and professionalism.
- Embody and uphold Camp4Real’s core values of kindness, respect, growth, and joy.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old by the start of camp.
- Demonstrated experience working with children (camps, coaching, mentoring, babysitting, etc.).
- Ability to lead by example and maintain a positive and energetic presence.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to teamwork and collaboration with fellow counselors and leadership.
- High level of responsibility, maturity, and emotional intelligence.
- CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguard certifications required by the start of camp (training support available for the right candidates).
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors in summer conditions.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from camp and staff training sessions.
- Background check is required.
