- The Miller School of Albemarle | 1000 Samuel Miller Loop, Charlottesville, Virginia
Commitment Duration:
- Monday–Friday: 7:30 AM – 5:15 PM (Miller) and 8:00 AM – 4:00 pm (BRS), specific hours for this position will be determined though during the hiring process
- Sunday: Food shopping / prep day
- Part-time (select days/part days) may be available
- Must be available to work 3+ weeks

Job Description:
Camp4Real is seeking a qualified and dependable Food & Medical Manager to oversee camper nutrition and manage daily health and safety needs. This role is ideal for someone with medical training who enjoys working with children in an active, outdoor environment.
Key Responsibilities
Food Management
- Plan, shop for, and prepare healthy snacks and lunches
- Oversee daily food service for campers and staff
- Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards
- Accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies
Medical Responsibilities
- Administer and manage camper and staff medications
- Treat minor injuries and illnesses (cuts, scrapes, headaches, etc.)
- Maintain accurate and confidential medical records and logs
- Communicate with families, including calling parents/guardians when needed
- Monitor camper health and escalate concerns appropriately
- Maintain and organize all first aid and medical supplies
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to lead by example and maintain a positive and energetic presence.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to teamwork and collaboration with fellow counselors and leadership.
- High level of responsibility, maturity, and emotional intelligence.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors in summer conditions.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from camp.
- Must be a certified EMT or licensed Nurse (required)
- Must have MAT (Medication Administration Training) certification
- Must have food safety/handling certification (training available)
- Must have reliable transportation
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Comfortable working with children in a camp setting
- Background check is required.
